Social Media Producer

Summary of Duties
Working as part of the Forces News team at BFBS you will help manage and grow BFBS’ social media profiles. You also will use social media to spot and verify stories.
Write and manage posts on a day-to-day basis across social media profiles.
Identifying trending conversations and stories online and coming up with ideas to replicate for our social media channels.
Create digital content: social media graphics and e-newsletters.
Monitor and evaluate data from content to inform future content ideas.
Develop and grow Forces News social media accounts.
Reporting to the Digital News Editor you will be working very closely with the rest of the Forces News team and the wider organisation.
Previous experience of managing and growing accounts with a news context.
Demonstratable experience of managing cross platform campaigns.
Producing content for FB, Instagram and Twitter.
Experience of working a newsroom environment - desirable
Some CMS/writing experience - desirable
Good standard of general education
Skills & Aptitudes/ Personal Qualities
Skilled in using content creation A strong understanding of current best practice in Social Media.
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva and other editing apps.
Excellent writing skills with a focus on plain English and sharp social storytelling.
Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced busy environment.
A desire to learn new skills. - desirable
In-depth understanding of all social media platforms and features.
Social media analytics and insights
Knowledge of the UK Armed Forces, the challenges they and their families face. - desirable
