Summary of Duties

Working as part of the Forces News team at BFBS you will edit video into likeable, shareable social content to go out across our platforms. You will need a producer’s eye and an editor’s skill.

You will also get the chance to do fast turn around for TV news and once in a while to work on longer form material for our youtube channels.


Day-to-day Responsibilities

Turning fantastic raw and cut material into videos for facebook, Insta and twitter.

Working to our Digitial News Editors you will look to tell stories in a simple, effective way.

There will also be the chance to work on some longer form content for our youtube channels.

Working Relationships

Reporting to the Digital News Editor you will be working very closely with the rest of the Forces News team and the wider organisation.




Excellent editing skills and experience with Premiere Pro.

Used to taking responsibility for all aspects of a piece of content from tech specs to accuracy of on screen text.

Experience of producing content for FB, Instagram and Twitter.

Experience of working a fast paced environment - Desirable 



Good standard of general education


Skills & Aptitudes/ Personal Qualities

A good understanding of current best practice in Social Media video.

Excellent writing skills with a focus on plain English and sharp social storytelling.

Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced busy environment.

A desire to learn new skills. - Desirable 



In-depth understanding of all social media platforms and features.

Social media analytics and insights

Knowledge of the UK Armed Forces, the challenges they and their families face. - Desirable
